Schedule Overview

Schedule Overview is an essential part of the Cost Management Features suite, offering users a centralized view and control over all automated schedules related to virtual machine (VM) operations and other cloud resource activities. This feature allows organizations to optimize cloud costs by ensuring that compute and storage resources are only active when necessary—without relying on manual intervention.

1. View Existing Schedules:

   • Overriding Schedules: This allows you to schedule a resource for specific days or times outside the regular scheduling cycle.

   • Example: If your VM is typically scheduled to run Monday to Friday, but you need it active on Saturday and Sunday for just this week, you can override the schedule to accommodate this.

   • Click the dropdown button next to the Start button to view Schedule Details.

     

     Note: You cannot override the schedule unless a normal schedule has already been set.

2. Select a Schedule:

   • Click on the schedule you want to override by pressing the clock icon.

3. Override Schedule:

   • Adjust the Time Zone, Start Date, Stop Date, Start Time, and Stop Time, then save the new schedule.

     

4. To remove an override schedule, click "Delete Override Schedule."

5. Note: When a resource is scheduled, an email notification will be sent to:

   • The user who performed the action.

   • Users who have access to the resource.

   • Team Admins who have access to the Landing Zone where the resource resides.
